The Parish Council is looking at different options for improvements for the Sports Field on Chesham Road, therefore we are inviting the community to tell us what you would like to see there.
Improvements to the far side of the field are already underway with the planting of some trees to create (ultimately) a small woodland area that will attract more wildlife to the space.
Specifically though we are asking for your input about the space where the ‘hut’ once stood. Re-seeding that area has been delayed until this Spring as we were advised this was the best time to undertake such a task and are now looking at ways in which we can improve the area.
We would therefore be grateful if you would fill in and return a short questionnaire to let us know what you think. Hopefully you will have received the questionnaire with your copy of the Oddy Newsletter. Note that an online version of the Oddy can be found on the Parish Council Website here, as well as the Community Questionnaire.
Please return your completed questionnaire by 20th May, either by placing it in one of the
collection boxes envelopes located at various points around the village or to Barbara Burch, 4 Belmers Road, Wigginton.

In collaboration with St Bartholomew’s School and the Woodland Trust, the Parish Council arranged for a tree planting event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The Woodland Trust provided a special free pack of 105 tree saplings, comprising species aimed to be attractive to wildlife and including a very special Royal Oak sapling grown from an acorn gathered from one of the Royal estates.
The trees were planted on the unused corner at the left-hand side of the sports field on Chesham Road, behind the children’s playground. Children from St Bartholomew’s School and Wigginton Pre-School helped plant the trees, which the Council hopes will, given time, establish well and be enjoyed by all.
