Competition was strong on the night, with some fun quiz rounds such as ‘Name that Crisp Flavour’ and ‘Act the Hollywood Scene’ giving those without ‘Total Recall’ the chance to storm the leader board. After a night of twists and turns, the final scores on the doors were:
The Oscar (1st Place) ‘Universally Clueless’
The Grammy (joint 2nd) ‘Casting Couch’ & ‘The Wizards’
The Razzie (Last place) ‘Norfolk ‘n Hope’
(Condolences to ‘The Unctouchables’, who despite a great start and dominating 1st place for so long, missed out on a Hollywood ending, and fell away over the last few rounds – maybe they imbibed too much Moonshine?)
The quiz is our main fund raising event for the year, and this event has raised around £570. The money will fund a visit from ZooLab (an animal presentation company), some new bikes, digital cameras for the children, and other pieces of equipment to enhance their play.
The Hollywood fancy dress theme opened up a world of possibilities, and interpretation.. some of the evidence is presented in the photo gallery below!
The Quiz will Return in 2013

Summer is approaching (honestly, though you’d never guess it right now), so if you fancy waking your bike from it’s winter hibernation and getting out in the fresh air, then there’s two local cycling events coming up which will be passing through Wigginton.
Sunday 27th May 2012 :
The annual cycle event called the Chiltern Hundred Challenge is a 100 mile on road non-competitive event. The event is not a race – riders start and finish at different times and there are no prizes. Riders are timed and awarded grades for their time based on age and gender. All riders have accepted that they will be riding within the Highway code at all times and ride in a private capacity. Details are at www.chiltern-hundred.org.uk. (The Parish Council has given permission for a refreshment stop to be set up at the Chesham Road sports field car park)

Dust off your thinking caps and come and join us for drinks and some friendly competition at the next pub quiz. The quiz will be held on Tuesday 22nd May at 8pm, and will raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
Usual pub quiz rules apply; Teams of up to 4, with a pound entry per person. The winning table will not only be crowned with glory, but also receive a triumphant round of drinks (courtesy of the Greyhound) with which to toast their victory!
Bound to be a loads of fun, and will be in support of a great cause to help fight a terrible disease:
Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive disease that damages the nervous system, leaving muscles wasted and weak. It often starts by weakening the muscles of the limbs, progressing to the muscles of the mouth and throat, then the neck and then those muscles responsible for breathing. Respiratory failure is usually the cause of death in this always fatal illness.
It is a particularly cruel illness and many people with MND say the fact they’re aware of what’s happening to their body is the worst part of the disease.
