The Big Lunch

The great Wigginton Picnic – 1st June 2014

Come along to Wigginton sports field on 1st June, between 12 and 5 in the afternoon for the big lunch, a one day get together for Wigginton.

Bring a picnic, and we’ll supply entertainment and fun for all.

Attractions include petting zoo, refreshments and childrens activities

The Big Lunch was a very simple idea started in 2009 by the Eden Project. The aim was to get as many of the 61 million people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours once a year. The idea grew out of national research showing that people were increasingly feeling isolated from their neighbours and that communities were not developing as they did in the past. Organisers say that while there is a significant minority of communities that are close-knit and act as a beacon for neighbourliness, many of the country’s communities are, at best, anonymous.

    Hi there
I was just reading the details on The Big Lunch in Wigginton and was wondering if you’d like a band to come and play. We’re a group of Dads who met via the school run, and decided to blow the dust off our instruments and play together. It’s been four years now and we’ve played plenty of parties and pubs. We’re based in Tring and for the price of pint we’d love to come and play for out ‘neighbours’
Here are a couple of links if you’d like to have a listen and see what we look like (though don’t let that put you off)

I look forward to hearing from you

    All the best
