Christmas Charity Gig – 02 Dec @ Wigginton Village Hall

Back by popular demand, the soul traders return to Wigginton to spread some Christmas cheer, and raise funds for breast cancer care.

They’ll be playing crowd pleasers from the Blues Brothers, The Commitments and other sing along favourites, and given the time of year perhaps even a few seasonal numbers to get us all in the Christmas spirit!

Doors open at 8:00 pm, and there will be a cash bar with proceeds going to the Wigginton village shop, mince pies, and much merriment. All proceeds other than the bar will be going to breast cancer care, a great charity that provides support for a disease that unfortunately far too many may face at some point. Tickets are just £10, so please show your support and come along for what will be a great start to your Christmas!

For tickets, please contact John on 07795 053305 or email soultraders2016@gmail.com. There will only be a limited number of tickets on the door, so advance purchase avoids disappointment!

Local cycle events pass through Wigginton

Summer is approaching (honestly, though you’d never guess it right now), so if you fancy waking your bike from it’s winter hibernation and getting out in the fresh air, then there’s two local cycling events coming up which will be passing through Wigginton.

Sunday 27th May 2012 :

The annual cycle event called the Chiltern Hundred Challenge is a 100 mile on road non-competitive event. The event is not a race – riders start and finish at different times and there are no prizes. Riders are timed and awarded grades for their time based on age and gender. All riders have accepted that they will be riding within the Highway code at all times and ride in a private capacity. Details are at www.chiltern-hundred.org.uk. (The Parish Council has given permission for a refreshment stop to be set up at the Chesham Road sports field car park)

Sunday 10th June 2012:

The Mix 96 Tour de Vale Bike Ride, supporting the charity WheelPower which helps disabled children and adults improve their lives through sport.

Now into its 9th year, the Mix 96 Tour de Vale Bike Ride starts and finishes at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. Our three routes will take you through beautiful countryside and villages that offer something for everyone

– 15 miles is perfect for families – 10.30am

– 35 miles is ideal for the leisure cyclist but beware of the hills! – 10am

– 55 miles is the ‘challenge route – 9am

The three routes are fully signed and there are safety marshals and mechanics in case of emergency. There are friendly water stops on each route plus refreshments and changing facilities at the start and finish.

Entry Fee: Adults £10 Under 16 FREE (must be accompanied by an adult):     Entry Fee on the day £20
