Diamond Jubilee Celebration – Programme Confirmed
June 4th 2012, from 1:00 pm at the Sports Field
Friends of Wigginton will be holding an event on the 4th June (Bank Holiday Monday) to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. The beer tent will open at 12 noon, and the fun begins at 1:00pm, so come and join us at Wigginton Sports field,there’s no entry fee, and it will be a great way to spend a few hours on the bank holiday:
There will be a fancy dress competition for the children, on the theme of Kings and Queens, with spot prizes and a fancy dress parade, plus:
- Cricket Tournament: Village Vs The Greyhound
- Guest Appearance by Gillian Wright (local Eastenders star)
- Children’s Sports Day
- Petting Zoo
- Children’s face painting
- Games for all ages
- Cream Teas
- Pony Rides
- Beer Tent
- Tug of War
- Side Stalls
- BBQ Food and Refreshments
- Live Music from:
- The Sensational Soloist Jacqui J
- Fifth Element
- Electric Blues Band
- Open Mic Spot / Jam Session

The timetable for the day is flexible, but should roughly follow the outline below:

It promises to be a great day out, with something for everyone, so why not plan to spend a few hours with us, and make good use of that extra day off? All proceeds will go to St Francis Hospice , so buying that ice cream or cream tea will be guilt free as you’ll be supporting a really worthy cause. Hope to see you there!
